MoMA to start new collaborative exhibition project

The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA) and the Independent Art Review Committee have jointly announced the start of a new collaborative exhibition project, ‘MoMA Presents Abroad’. A trial of the project, which is presented as an ‘outreach programme for emerging artists and local exhibition spaces’, launches this september. MoMA aims to select twelve international artists to create their own show locally each year. The Independent Art Review Committee will facilitate the coupling between MoMA and the local institutions. Besides a space, the artists will receive support in the creation of new works for their exhibition. This year four artists have been selected that will exhibit in four European spaces. The first show will be hosted by the Dutch artist-led initiative Villa de Bank.
